When flip-flop waste started piling up on our shores, we, a few uni mates had an idea. Inspired by polluted oceans and the need for real change, we kicked off Nuoceans with one mission: turn waste into opportunity and make a serious impact. If we’re gonna change the world, we’ve gotta rethink how we act. Our journey began with sandals made from discarded flip-flops, and we’ve been standing against environmental harm and fast fashion ever since.

At our core? Upcycling, style, and a whole lot of attitude. Why? Because we refuse to accept waste as the norm, and fashion should make a statement—no BS.We’re proud to be pioneers in transforming ocean waste into stylish, sustainable fashion, proving that style and responsibility can coexist.

By flipping waste into wearables, we're keeping waste out of oceans and wardrobes alike. Repurposed flip-flops become our soles, recycled cork keeps things comfy, and recycled cotton gives our winter gear that eco-boost. Every material’s got a backstory, proving fashion doesn’t just have to be worn once and thrown out. Because honestly, what’s cooler than style that’s got a past and a purpose?

We're here to prove that fashion can be fierce without being mean. By keeping things 100% vegan and cruelty-free, we’re giving you style without the shady stuff. Recycled materials? Check. Less waste? Double check. And ethical production? Always. Every piece we make is a step towards a kinder world, 'cause looking good shouldn’t come at a cost to the planet, or anyone living on it.

The trio behind our start-up

First, Valentina from Austria, a boxing and travel enthusiast who fiercely advocates for the environment, LGBTQ+ rights, and equality—her passion is an inspiration to fight for a better world. Hadrien is our sweet-toothed Belgian. While battling cravings for sugar, he channels his love for his country into environmental responsibility—his energy is contagious! Then there's Terence, our charming UK guy who loves food—especially pizza—and has a soft spot for pandas. But don’t be fooled; he’s a serious environmentalist at heart, reminding us to enjoy life while caring for our planet. We met at university and, despite our differences, that’s our strength. Our diverse backgrounds fuel our mission to make a real difference. Together, we’re turning our unique strengths into action, proving that when diverse minds unite, amazing things happen.
